About
Drummond Reid was formed in 1960 when Brian Drummond (a highly
sought after self-employed French Polisher who could have
had his pick of piano dealers to team up with) responded to
approach from Craig Reid Pianos of Belfast and this proved
too good an oportunity to turn down. Brian and Craig went
on to form a very formidably partnership in the supplying
of new and used pianos.
Brian spent much of his time in the polishing shop, keeping
a well-trained eye on every little detail of piano restoration.
Since the sudden death of Craig's son Peter in the early eighties,
and the retirement of Craig, the famous shop on Belfast's
Lisburn Road sadly had to close its doors.
Brian's sons Conor and Darren came on board shortly after
this as budding young French Polishers and together as a family
business their experiences in the field of french
polishing and piano sales
has grown to be unquestionable.
Today, Drummond Reid are still able to offer customers a
great range of either new or used pianos from all over the
world, something Craig would be very proud of. Japanese
pianos have become something of a forte for Drummond Reid
after a chance meeting in London in early 2003 saw Brian's
son, Conor open up a supply link with other dealers in England.
This has seen sales in Yamaha and Kawai used upright pianos
becoming a real winner with customers throughout Northern
Ireland!
Drummond Reid's expertise in upright and grand pianos doesn't
stop at piano sales. A
full restoration service is something that has come to
the fore in recent years. Restringing, over-hauls of actions,
regulating and the like is a daily occurrence now, with a
growing team of tuners and technicians.
The friendly team at Drummond Reid are always on hand for
advice, help and quotations - please contact
us if we can be of any assistance at all and we are always
glad to help.
